Hollywood desperately recycles old franchises in the hopes of avoiding taking a loss like every other industry has. Surely, there is a little more money to besqueezed out of superheroes X or 70'sploitation flic Y.

Television, on the otherhand has not considered updating classic series in the same way.

Perhaps it is time.
